NEWCOMERS CLUB is a harmony-focused folk rock group from New York City, with roots in New England. If you’re a fan of Nickel Creek, Dolly Varden, or other bands with great writing, incredible male and female vocals, and an original rootsy sound, you’ll love Newcomers Club.
Founded by Geoff Lynn and John Roach in the Fall of 2013, the band has played festivals and clubs throughout NYC and New England, playing original tunes from their 2015 EP, The Right Direction, and their upcoming 2018 album. The band includes: Roach, vocals/guitar; Lynn on vocals/banjo/harp; Sam Bowers, vocals; Mike Gannon, electric guitar; Alex Schwartz, bass; and Mike Vecchione, drums. Influences include Crosby, Stills, and Nash; Fleetwood Mac; the Beatles; the Beach Boys; Simon & Garfunkle – the classics. Plus a healthy dose of funk (regardless of whether or not they sound like it). |
